tuesdays are basically my day off. i have italian class from 6-8 pm and that's about it. yesterday i had my first class, it seems like it should be pretty interesting. its called cross cultural psychology, and in the class we talk about different cultural factors that influence who a person is, what their emotions are, what their overall identity might be, etcetera. my first paper is on the advantages and disadvantages of arranged marriages.
on sunday we went to an elsa haertter exhibit. shes a famous fashion photographer whose career spanned from the fifties to the late eighties. she did more things in her life than most. she created a swimwear line when she was eighteen, and almost accidentally fell into the role of a photographer and continued to do that for the remainder of her life, which ended in milan in 1995.
these pictures are from a protest that happened on saturday. students are protesting a bill that is being passed regarding educational cut backs. currently there is a separate teacher for each class, but with the new bill there will be only one teacher for each group of students.
the picture at the primary school i posted the other day is related to this. to have something with bows or ribbons is to have something well done and complete and right.
